Batman 3 Is What Christian Bale Would Call Dark Knight Sequel

Christian Bale would like to do a third Dark Knight movie

Christian Bale would like to see a "Dark Knight" trilogy, and he thinks that a Batman 3 will happen. According to him, the Dark Knight movies are a recreation of the original character, and he'd like to see a third movie to complete the work. Here's what he told EW.

"No, no, no, no, no. [Smiling] Part 3 is what I'd consider it, yeah, I don't say part 7. Batman begins - that was the beginning there, with all due respect to the others. We are re-creating this. You know, obviously the decision is out of my hands. I would, knowing the Dark Knight story, I would like very much to complete a trilogy. And I think that knowing the story of The Dark Knight, it leaves you anticipating something that really can get very, very interesting for a third. Now, the question would be: Is Chris going to be doing it? Because to me I find it tricky to imagine working on it without it being a collaboration with Chris."

The Dark Knight opened in selected theaters last night, and is expected to be the smash blockbuster movie of the year. The movie builds on the Batman franchise, and is the last movie that will feature Heath Ledger, who died this year, and whose role as "The Joker" is gaining serious Academy Award buzz.
