Kate Gosselin - Is She A Mean Mommy?
Kate Gosselin, whose marriage with Jon Gosselin may be in deep doodoo, is now getting as much attention from the tabloids as anyone, even though most of it is not positive. Gosselin took the kids for a stay on Bald Head Island in North Carolina on May 29, and witnesses had plenty of negative things to say about the mother of eight.
"She completely ignored her children the entire time," fellow vacationer Ann Michelle Sweeney told US Weekly for their cover story. "When Kate sat at the edge of the pool, she told one of her daughters, 'If you splash me you're dead meat.' She was not joking at all."
The child had a snappy reply for Kate Gosselin.
"She said, 'Mommy, you are mean!'" said Sweeney.
Jon Gosselin, for his part, was not on the vacation at the 12,000 acre resort island. He instead spent the day with two female family friends at the bar 26 Front Street.
"He just wanted to chill," manager Rob Tanczos said. But people noticed he was a TV star. "He got uncomfortable and took off."
Kate Gosselin booked the family in the $1,807 a night rental home that came complete with two media rooms. Kate made sure her hair looked perfect and she flaunted her hot new bikini body.
"She wasn't trying to blend in," Sweeney said. "She was sitting there in her sparkling bathing suit, looking good."
If nothing else, Kate Gosselin is making the most of the public curiosity and is getting as much face time on magazine covers as any celebrity these days. Jon Gosselin seems to be shying away from the media. He was only spotted once on June 1 riding his ATV.
June 12 marks the couple's tenth anniversary.
"They are still together – or at least the were a week ago," said an insider who attends the same church as the couple.
But a separation might be in the air.
"I think Jon would like to get away for a while - away from her for a while," said Virginia Sep, mother of a friend of Jon's.
