SEATTLE, June 9 (UPI) --
A man may have thrown himself through the window of a Washington state church because his brother hanged himself on the property in 1980, the pastor says.
The Rev. James Hicks, pastor of the Unity Church of God in Rainier Valley, told the Seattle Times he was advised that the man, who had stripped naked, was infected with the hepatitis C virus. He said police warned him to get a professional cleaning firm.
When the man's older brother committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree, the church had not been built, Hicks said.
Police said the man told officers he was "going home." Jacqualine Hicks-Lenard, one of the pastor's daughters, said he was heard talking oddly.
"A neighbor said he could hear him out here hollering 'I love you, I love you!' like he was arguing with somebody," she said. "He said it sounded like two different voices."
The man has been returned to the King County Jail in Seattle. Police said he was released from jail Friday, used money from a disability check to buy drugs and then went to the church.
Inside the church, he allegedly broke a trophy case and smeared his blood around.
