Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months behind bars for perverting justice.

Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in jail for beating up a bar manager in 2006 and then offering him a £200,000 bribe to keep his silence.

Noticeably absent from his sentencing was wife, Amy Winehouse. His lawyer suggested that Blake be given community service, a suspended sentence or no more than 18 months for his crime.

Judge Judge David Radford didn't oblige the attorney's request and said that Blake behaved in a 'gratuitous, cowardly and disgraceful' way.

Fielder-Civil has already served 9 months behind bars and his attorney said the couple was devoted to kicking their known drug habits.

He said, "They (Winehouse and Fielder-Civil) are very much committed to each other and their ambition is to divorce themselves from hard drugs and not separate themselves from each other. Knowing the nation's glare is upon him, Mr Fielder-Civil has every possible motive to rehabilitate himself in the way he has already shown he is fully committed to doing. He knows if he fails, an appointment with calamity awaits, not just for himself but for his wife. He can now see that hard drugs are to be regarded as nothing other than a smiling assassin. He wishes now to become a role model for Miss Winehouse but he knows it would be impossible for her to alienate herself from drugs if he continues to befriend them."

Winehouse and Fielder-Civil already have an abusive relationship, Amy has admitted to hitting him. She told PR-Inside "I'll beat up Blake when I'm drunk. I don't think I have ever bruised him, but I do have my way. If he says one thing I don't like then I'll chin him."

The couple was married on May 18, 2006 in Miami, Florida.
