Bailey Hanks has defeated her rivals to become the next "Elle Woods". The talent competition filmed as a reality TV show by MTV, "Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search For Elle Woods" pitted 20 contestants each other to determine who had what it takes to be on Broadway.

Ironically, Bailey Hanks had never seen a Broadway show prior to her attempts to star in one. She did, however, know all about Elle Banks from watching the two Legally Blonde movies.

"I saw both Legally Blonde movies as soon as they came out," said Hanks.

Bailey Hanks is a 20 year old pastor's daughter from Anderson, S.C.

Bailey will be replacing Tony award nominee Laura Bell Bundy, who has been playing Elle Woods. It doesn't surprise Robb Alverson, who has directed Bailey since she was six years old.

""She has always been one of those who you really know has the ability," said Alverson. "She could sing, has great ability and a wonderful personality. She has always been a triple threat."
