Christian Bale Arrested For Assault

Christian Bale has been arrested for the alleged assault of his mother and sister. Bale is in jail right now.

Details about the incident have been somewhat sketchy, but it's apparent that his mother and sister filed the complaint against him.

Bale was allowed to attend the European premiere of "The Dark Knight", because prosecutors weren't sure of the allegations.

Bale turned himself in today to answer the complaint.

The alleged assault occurred at London's Dorchester hotel on Sunday, where he has a suite. His mother Jenny, 61 and 40 year old sister Sharon lodged the formal complaint against the star at a police station in Hampshire, Southern England.

Police didn't immediately charge Bale.

"It was a very difficult situation but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don't yet know is founded in truth. But Mr. Bale will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and be asked to provide an account of anything that happened," said a spokesman.
