Facebook Revamped

Facebook has updated their design, based on feedback from users. The new design is in beta, but the website will be rolling it out to more users over the next few months.

"We've made the changes rolling out today in order to highlight the most recent and relevant information that users value, give users even more control and ownership over their profiles and simplify the user experience," said Mark Zuckerberg.

"Facebook's new design makes it a lot easier for users to share information."

I'm sure Facebook fanboys are quite excited about the new website, but how will that translate to the masses? Personally, as a casual user, I can barely notice the difference. The changes are apparently aimed at casual (read older) users.

Only a true test in the field can determine how successful this revamping of Facebook really is. Facebook is battling it out with MySpace to be the pre-eminent provider of social networks online. We'll need to check back in six month and see how successful they both are.
