DEWALT framing nailers recalled

WASHINGTON, June 26 (UPI) --

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of DEWALT framing nailers due to risk of serious injuries.

The DEWALT D51825 and D51850 Framing Nailers could eject fasteners unexpectedly, resulting in serious injury, the commission said in a statement.

About 9,000 of the framing nailers were imported from Mexico by DEWALT Industrial Tool Co. of Towson, Md, and sold nationwide from January 2008 through September 2008 for about $280.

No injuries were reported, but consumers were advised to stop using the recalled nailers and contact DEWALT for instructions on a free replacement for a faulty bump action trigger.

Consumers can call 877-437-7181 for information.
