Barack Obama is running around the world right now as if he were already the President. Obama needed to be reminded on several occasions that he was not yet the President. Obama has clearly improved his position with his "Agreement" with Iraqi leaders concerning troop withdrawals being completed from that war-torn country by 2010.

Obama did end up withdrawing an earlier comment that he "always felt confident about his foreign policy." Obama has also been very careful not to say that he was wrong about the surge, despite being baited to do so. Obama has pointedly referrer to other key elements that have led to a decline in violence in Iraq.
Obama was vigorously opposed to the surge, even going so far as to call the strategy "catastrophic." Now he's been careful to walk the tightrope between admitting that a decrease in violence means troops can be redeployed to Afghanistan and the reason for that decrease.
Meanwhile John McCain has been taking shots at Obama and might be in the process of naming his Vice Presidential candidate. This could take some of Obama's thunder away.
