West Bank bomb smuggler allegedly thwarted

NABLUS, West Bank, Oct. 5 (UPI) --

Israeli authorities allege a Palestinian man concealing two pipe bombs was arrested Sunday near Nablus in the West Bank.

The two bombs allegedly found in the man's bag at the Hawara checkpoint were safely detonated by Israeli soldiers and no one was injured, Ynetnews.com reported.

At the same checkpoint last month, a Palestinian youth was charged with allegedly trying to stab an Israeli soldier and a Palestinian woman was charged with allegedly pouring acid on an Israeli soldier, who may go blind in one eye from the attack, Ynetnews.com reported.
