WNBA: Detroit 76, San Antonio 60

Katie Smith's 18 points led the Detroit Shock to a 76-60 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars Sunday for the WNBA championship.

Smith was named the Most Valuable Player in the finals, which the Shock swept with three straight wins.

Detroit also won the championship in 2003 and 2006.

Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Shock.

Ann Wauters topped San Antonio's scorers with 19 points.

The Silver Stars played in the title series for the first time.
