Kate Gosselin Raising The Kids Alone
When Kate Gosselin and her husband announced they were ending their marriage, both insisted they would do everything in their power to raise their 8 kids. Now, according to a new report in Life and Style, Kate is the main one living up to the promise.
"Jon hasn't been seen at the house much since he and Kate announced the divorce," an insider said.
Jon spent time at the family's Westerville Pa. compound on June 26, but he didn't spend much time with his kids.
"He was barely with the kids at all," the insider said.
Instead, a new nanny looked after the eight little bundles of joy.
"He has a new nanny who watched them the whole time. She's very young and good looking. I don't think Kate would be too happy about her."
Jon Gosselin was also seen at the house the next day. Again he seemed to be more interested in recreation than in raising kids.
"He tossed a Frisbee and played lacrosse with a few of the kids for a bit," an onlooker said. "Mostly, though, he spent the afternoon lolling around. At one point he signed promotional pictures of his family, He chatted with a security guard for a bit, then got back on his ATV and just rode around."
Although Jon has been spending his time relaxing, Kate Gosselin has been forced to pick up the slack and is now spending most of her time caring for the children.
"I don't want to do this alone," Kate said recently. "But it's required and I've got to do it. If I've got to pull this whole ship on my own, I'm going to do it. I will survive."
Of course Kate already has plenty of help. In fact, she has at least two nannies and bodyguards as well as close friends to help her out. Not only that, but several of her kids are now getting old enough to look after their younger siblings. Mady and Cara, who are 8, are now helping with their 5 year old brothers and sisters.
"Mady and Cara are essentially taking care of the sextuplets," an eyewitness said.
Still, with Jon gone, Kate is forced to pick up the slack around the house.
"Kate's in charge of taking care of the house now," another witness said. "All the duties Jon used to handle are now hers."
Jon Gosselin, for his part, is looking forward to single life.
"It's new and exciting for Jon to be single," said Brian Sep, who is one of his long time friends. "In high school he was popular with the girls, and I'm sure it will be the same way now. He plans to see the kids on weekends."
