Cruise ship with H1N1 cases set to dock

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, July 3 (UPI) --

A Princess Cruises ship with 14 crew members infected with the H1N1 virus is set to dock in the Danish capital, an official says.

Health inspector Arne Scheel Thomsen said hospital staff in Copenhagen have been informed of the possibility of impending swine flu patients, despite the fact the ship's crew and passengers have yet to receive permission to disembark, The Copenhagen Post said Friday.

"The hospitals have been advised that there could be a number of passengers or others who have to be admitted," Thomsen said. "So the system is ready to deal with the situation."

There are 4,400 passengers and crew members aboard the Emerald Princess cruise ship. The ship is scheduled to dock in Copenhagen Saturday.

The Post said the cruise liner previously attempted to dock in Finland, Russia and Sweden.
