MLB: San Francisco 9, Houston 0

SAN FRANCISCO, July 4 (UPI) --

Tim Lincecum and two relievers combined on a three-hit shutout Saturday, leading the San Francisco Giants to a 9-0 rout of the Houston Astros.

Lincecum (9-2), a likely NL Cy Young candidate, gave up the three hits in seven scoreless innings with two walks and nine strikeouts in 107 pitches. He cruised after San Francisco scored six times in the bottom of the sixth.

Relievers Brandon Medders and Merkin Valdez threw one scoreless inning apiece.

Aaron Rowand had two hits and two RBI, Randy Winn hit a two-run double in the sixth, Nate Schierholtz had one RBI and Juan Uribe had a run and two hits for the Giants, who have split their last four contests.

Lance Berkman had a double while Geoff Blum and Ivan Rodriguez each had a single for the Astros, who have just seven hits in two straight losses. The Giants pounded Houston 13-0 Friday.

Losing pitcher Russ Ortiz (3-4) surrendered eight earned runs and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings with five walks and seven strikeouts.
