MLB: Philadelphia 4, New York Mets 1

PHILADELPHIA, July 4 (UPI) --

Jamie Moyer, in his 600th start, tied Carl Hubbell for 10th place for most victories by a left-hander in Philadelphia's 4-1 win over the New York Mets Saturday.

Moyer (7-6) held the Mets to five hits in 6 1/3 innings, throwing just 87 pitches for his 253rd career victory.

Closer Brad Lidge earned his 15th save, striking out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth.

Jimmy Rollins hit a two-run double in the fourth, Shane Victorino had three hits and drove in a run and Jayson Werth had one RBI for the Phillies.

New York's run scored on a fifth-inning single by starting pitcher Fernando Nieve. Alex Cora had three of the six hits for the Mets, who have lost seven of their last nine games.

Nieve (3-2) surrendered four runs on six hits and six walks in 5 2/3 innings.
