Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii Changes Her Name
Luckily for Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii a judge decided to reject her legal name and have her renamed.
Judge Rob Murfitt, a family court judge in New Zealand is tired of extreme and bizarre names and he went to extreme measures to make sure that the 9 year old girl named Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii didn't have to go through life bearing the name forever. He declared her a warden of the state so her name could be legally changed.
Judge Murfitt wrote, "The court is profoundly concerned about the very poor judgment which this child's parents have shown in choosing this name. It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily."
The young girl was so embarrassed by her real name, she told her friends to call her "K." Her new name isn't being released to protect her identity.
Brian Clarke, the registrar general of Births, Deaths and Marriages said that birth names that are deemed offensive to a reasonable person and some other conditions aren't allowed in the country. Other names blocked by registration officials include Fish and Chips and Sex Fruit among others.
