BASTAD, Sweden, July 18 (UPI) --
Juan Monaco blitzed Tommy Robredo 6-0, 6-2 Saturday in one semifinal match at the Swedish Open tennis tournament in Bastad, Sweden.
In his dominant victory, the unseeded Argentine, the 61st-ranked player on the men's tour, beat the third-seeded Robredo by winning 77 percent of points on first serves and recording six service breaks.
In the other semifinal, second-seeded Robin Soderling downed countryman Andreas Vinciguerra, 6-1, 7-6 (8-6).
Soderling, the surprise runner-up at this season's French Open, won his match by recording 13-of-19 points on Vinciguerra's second serves.
Sunday's Monaco-Soderling winner Sunday will collect a $106,500 champion's check.
