LOS ANGELES, July 18 (UPI) --
Actress Mischa Barton's recent hospitalization did not cause the production delay of the U.S. TV series "The Beautiful Life," sources say.
The unidentified sources said Barton was hospitalized following a reported emotional meltdown, but it was a lack of completed sets that held up production, The Hollywood Reporter said Saturday.
The CW drama series will follow the lives of several models living in New York. Production was scheduled to begin next Wednesday, but was pushed back to July 31.
The series is to premiere Sept. 16 and is being paired with "America's Next Top Model," the Hollywood Reporter said.
The newspaper said Barton, who was ordered in 2008 to take alcohol-education classes as part of a drunken driving incident, is at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on involuntary psychiatric hold.
