Madonna's Film "I Am Because We Are" To Debut At Traverse City Film Festival
Madonna is debuting her new documentary film "I Am Because We Are" at Michael Moore's Traverse City Film Festival.
The documentary is about Malawian children that were orphaned by AIDS and the people that Madonna meets along the way as she journeys through South Africa. "I Am Because We Are" features commentary from former President Bill Clinton, Professor Jeffrey Sachs and Dr. Paul Farmer. Madonna is the mother of David Banda, a young boy that she adopted from the region.
The Traverse City Film Festival was founded by Michael Moore, a controversial documentary film maker, in 2005. He was elated to hear that Madonna would be debuting and attending the film festival that runs from July 29, 2008 to August 3, 2008 at several different venues in Traverse City, Michigan.

Moore said, "It's going to be an electrifying moment. There's only going to be 500 people in the theater. Usually, if you want to see Madonna, you're in a 20,000-seat arena. Ten minutes into the film, you're going to forget about all the noise that surrounds the celebrity aspect of this and get into the film in a deep and personal way."
"I Am Because We Are" will be shown at the State Theater and The City Opera House on August 2 at 8 PM. Tickets for both shows are sold out.
