Barack Obama Really Wants YOU To Have Health Care
WASHINGTON, DC., Jul 21 (TOTI) --

U.S. President Barack Obama is hell bent on every American receiving health care coverage. Not only that, but he wants health care reform done as quickly as possible.

Currently he's set his eyes on healthcare-reform-republicans">Republicans, who he feels are obstructing his vision of progress.

Obama says the Republicans are playing a game of "delay and defeat." Like everything else in politics for the last year, health care reform healthcare-reform-republicans">needs to be done in a hurry.

"The need for reform is urgent and it is indisputable," Obama said. "We've talked this problem to death, year after year."

The time for action is now, seems to be the message. But really, why the big hurry? If, as most people agree, the health care system is screwed up and has been for decades, why are Democrats in such a big hurry to fix it in weeks or months? Certainly health care reform is a pressing concern, but what's wrong with measured debate and taking your time when making important decisions?

For me it's been tough to take Obama, or his predecessor George W. Bush seriously when they tell me they're in a big hurry to fix a massive screw-up that has been unfolding for years. It reminds me of anyone who suddenly has an emergency on their hands because they procrastinated about taking action for so long.

As the economy continues to fail to impress, the thought of a massive spending program on health care is making the average citizen nervous. It's easy to see why. When people are losing jobs left and right and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight, hardly anyone is in the mood to spend trillions to overhaul health care.

Right now many Americans are afraid of the direction the country is heading in. With Obama constantly telling people just how bad they have it and just how much they need to make changes, there's bound to be resistance. How much more "change" can the average person take?

Obama's plan doesn't seem to be gaining much support among a wide variety of Americans from politicians through the hospitals that would be most affected by reform;

"The proposed legislation misses the opportunity to help create higher-quality, more affordable healthcare for patients. In fact, it will do the opposite," the Mayo Clinic said in a statement.

The Republicans, who have been sucking wind ever since getting their asses handed to them in the last election, are beginning to see a shift in momentum. They can see the American consumer is starting to suffer from fatigue concerning Obama's changes and spending, and they're trying to fan the flames of that unhappiness.

Without any GOP support, Obama's health care vision is quickly meeting resistance that it may not be able to overcome. Obama wants everything done by the time that Congress takes their break in August.
