U.S. actress Bryce Dallas Howard has signed on to replace Rachelle Lefevre in the role of Bella's nemesis Victoria in the movie "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

E! News said scheduling conflicts are to blame for Lefevre's departure after the second installment of the franchise.

"We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise," Erik Feig, president of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions for Summit Entertainment, said in a statement Tuesday.

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon," the sequel to last year's blockbuster "Twilight," is slated to open in U.S. theaters Nov. 20.

Howard's film credits include "Terminator Salvation," "Spider-Man 3," "Lady in the Water" and "The Village."
