Unemployment claims drop in Spain
MADRID, Aug. 6 (UPI) --
The number of applications for unemployment benefits in Spain fell for the third consecutive month in July, the labor ministry said.
Construction and service jobs led the comeback as jobless claims fell by 20,794 in the month, the EUobserver reported Thursday.
Unemployment in Spain is still high. At 18.1 percent in the second quarter, it remains the highest among the 27 European Union states.
