Gary Glitter To Be Released From Vietnam Prison
Gary Glitter, best known for his hit single Rock & Roll Part 2 is set for an early release from a Vietnam prison. He was sentenced to 27 months behind bars for molesting two young girls.
63 year old Glitter (real name Paul Gadd) was detained and arrested when he was flying out of Ho Chi Mihn airport in November 2005 on charges of molestation. He was granted a one day trial and plead "not guilty" to the charges. Glitter was found guilty of the offenses and sentenced to three years behind bars. He maintains his innocence.
A later appeal reduced his sentence by three months and jail time served is counted from the time of the arrest, making him eligible for release this month. Prison officials declined to give a firm release date and said that Paul Gadd will be able to travel wherever he wants upon his release.
Glitter is said to be planning a new album once he's on the outside.
