Eminem Releases New Memoir
Eminem, aka Marshall Mather, has been pretty quiet since his his friend Proof was killed in a barroom shooting in 2006, but now he’s broken the silence surrounding his retreat from the public eye.

In a new memoir titled The Way I Am, Eminem confesses just how hard he took his friends death. He writes, “I have never felt so much pain in my life. It was tough for me to even get out of bed, and I had days when I couldn’t walk, let alone write a rhyme.”
Proof’s death happened at the same time he was getting divorced from Kim Mathers a second time.
Despite their differences in the past, he and Kim are currently co-parenting daughter Hailie and their niece Alaina along with Kim’s daughter from another relationship, Whitney.
Em’s memoir will be released on October 21, 2008.
