Cabbage With Cheese Sauce

What you’ll need:
- 1 medium head of cabbage.
- 6 pieces of bacon, crumbled.
- 3 tablespoons bacon drippings.
- 1 tablespoon flour.
- Sprinkle of salt.
- Sprinkle of pepper.
- 3/4 cups evaporated milk.
- 1/4 cup water.
- 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
Cut cabbage into 6 wedges. Cook in water to boiling while covered. Reduce heat and simmer for around 15 minutes. In saucepan add bacon drippings, flour, salt, pepper. Stir well; add evaporated milk and water. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. When thickened, add shredded cheese stirring until melted. Drain cabbage, place on platter or in serving dish. Spoon sauce over cabbage and sprinkle with bacon crumbs.
Serve with pork chops or chicken for a complete meal.
