Spaghetti Sauce Recipe
The perfect complement to a bowl of fresh pasta is a fresh spaghetti sauce recipe.
This spaghetti sauce recipe doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to put together and meatballs make it a complete homemade meal!
What you’ll need:
- 1 medium onion, minced.
- 1 clove garlic.
- Any other vegetables you like - mushrooms, green peppers etc. - chopped.
- 2 tablespoons olive oil.
- 1 - 1 pound can tomato puree.
- 1 - 6 ounce can tomato paste.
- 1 cup water.
- 1 tablespoon sugar.
- 1 tablespoon dried or fresh oregano.
- Salt and Pepper to taste.
In large saucepan, saute onion, garlic and any other vegetables in olive oil until tender. Add tomato puree, tomato paste and water. Stir until smooth. Simmer for one hour. Add sugar, salt, pepper and oregano. Simmer for another half an hour. This recipe makes 4 cups and can easily be doubled to accommodate larger requirements.
